POPPY POSTER WINNERS ANNOUNCED

    Britton’s American Legion Auxiliary Post 80 has announced the winners of the post’s 2026 Poppy Poster Contest.
    In Class I, Ariyah Sasker received first place, followed by Alexa Johnson in second and Alanna Key in third. Class II winners were Ella Mundt, first; Alyssa Kanizar, second; and Grace Pester, third. In Class III, Claire Rabenberg earned first place, Jaelynn Heitmann was second and Isaac Richter was third.
    Class IV winners included Savannah Angstman, first; Eliana Satterlee, second; and Zaden Beck, third. In Class V, Kaylee Carlson placed first, Linnea Satterlee second and Kennady Van Lith third. Cole Bodin received first place in Class VI.
    Class VII winners were Eli Walgamuth, first; Juan Ordonez Guevara, second; and Izabella Stiegelmeier, third.
    First-place drawings will advance to compete with other winners from across the state. Other posters are displayed in stores and businesses around town in honor of Memorial Day, and the VFW features a large display of posters.

South Dakota voters will decide in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would end the state’s expanded Medicaid coverage if the federal government’s share of funding for the expansion falls below 90%. The expansion, approved by voters in 2022, provides Medicaid eligibility to certain adults ages 19 to 64 with incomes up to the federal limit established by the constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would remove that expanded coverage if the federal funding level drops below 90%. If the election were held today, how would you vote?
