    Three Britton-Hecla boys qualified for the state golf tournament in Region 1B play on Monday in Aberdeen.
    The top 24 individual golfers, including ties, and the top two teams earned the right to play for state honors at the Brookings Country Club June 1-2. 
    Lofton Heer led the Braves with an 82 to finish 11th, Jace Rein carded an 85 for the 15th spot, and Charles Schuller shot a 93 to tie for 24th.  Nate Schuler finished 27th with a 96.  In addition to the top two teams, any school qualifying at least three golfers is also eligible to compete for the state team title.
    Four B-H golfers also competed in the girls division in the regional.  Corinne Bosse led the way with a 112, good for 26th place.  Sage Ford carded a 121 to finish 31st, Chellon Pruitt had a 137 for 37th, and Maddi Micko shot a 142 for 39th.
    “I am very proud of our entire golf squad this year,” said B-H coach Ryan Nack.  “As the season wraps up, we still have some work to do at the state tournament.  Our plan is to keep the focus on our game while playing the course, not the other golfers, to celebrate the good shots while not dwelling on the missed hit shots, and keeping awareness on the mental game.  Starting with the right mindset is key to moving forward.”
    Clark-Willow Lake won the boys regional title with a 239 total, followed by Edmunds Central at 242,  Doland 253, Warner 253, Webster Area 254, Faulkton Area 254, Britton-Hecla 260, Great Plains Lutheran 277, Ipswich 284, Florence-Henry 303, Frederick Area 323, Langford Area 327, Waubay-Summit 342, Aberdeen Christian 352, and Wilmot 408.  Webster Area’s Seth Lesnar earned medalist honors with a one-under-par 70.
    Clark-Willow Lake also claimed the girls crown by a 26-stroke margin with a 248 total, followed by Faulkton Area and Warner at 274, Ipswich 296, Webster Area 328, Great Plains Lutheran 334, Waverly-South Shore 338, Leola 355, Waubay-Summit 362, and Britton-Hecla 370.  Brynn Roehrich of Clark-Willow Lake was the medalist with a one-over-par 72. 
    The B-H boys wrapped up its regular season with a tournament in Castlewood on Friday.  Rein topped the local golfers with a 76 to place fourth, followed by Nate Schuller at 87 for 14th, Charles Schuller 88 for 17th, and Bowen Micko 93 for 28th.  Heer did not compete in the event.
    Doland won the team title with a 238 total, followed by Deubrook at 244, Castlewood 244, Arlington 245, Britton-Hecla 251, Deuel 267, Florence-Henry 289, and Waubay-Summit 312.
