LA STUDENTS PLACE IN AUXILIARY CONTESTS
Several Langford Area students placed in contests held by the local American Legion Auxiliary Henry Osness Post #14.     Langford Area students were recently recognized for their creative writing skills through the American Legion Auxiliary Henry Osness Post #14 Americanism contest.
    This year’s essay theme was “Celebrating America’s 250th Birthday and the Veterans Who Fought for Our Freedom.” In the 2026 essay contest, Gunner Hardy earned first place and also placed second at the District 5 level. Abbie Hoines placed second, and Audrina Bastian placed third.
    Students were also recognized in the poetry division, which featured the theme “Happy 250th Birthday, America!” In Class IV, Monroe Steiner placed first, followed by Lydia Honl in second and Mila Baule Toledo in third. In Class III, Raegan Horter earned first place, Briggs Bertsch placed second, Hannah Knebel placed third, and Cora Larson placed fourth.
    In the poppy poster contest, in the fifth grade division, Norah Alberts places first followed by Jasmine Baule Toledo in second and Hannah Knebel in third. In sixth grade, Lydia Honl was named first and Kira Jensen in second and Dominic Knebel in third.
