TEN ON LA GOLF ROSTER

TEN ON LA GOLF ROSTER

Mother Nature has not been cooperating with area golfers so far this spring and Langford Area’s golf opener at Britton-Hecla set for Tuesday was postponed due to wet grounds.
“We have quite a few returners from last year’s golf team,” said LA boss Michael Alberts.  “We have good numbers this year again for us and we should be able to put together a pretty decent boys team.
“We have only been able to practice inside so far this year, but we have been working on putting and getting our golf swings down,” added Alberts.. Hopefully the weather starts to get better so we can head outside for practice and get to the golf course.”
Five boys and two girls reported for the high school squad with three junior high golfers on the roster this spring.  Boys include Brayden Small, Conner Glines, Dawson VanderVorst, Dane Horter, and Carter Glines.  Shaina Kleeman and Maddie Knebel will be varsity competitors for the girls.
Junior high golfers include Tru Hagen, Ruby Darling, and Chloe Olson.

Poll: TAX-PAYER FUNDS TO ATTRACT COMPANIES?During last week’s SD Republican gubernatorial debate, candidates discussed whether taxpayer dollars should be used to attract large out-of-state companies, particularly in relation to data centers and other economic development projects. While some emphasized the need to remain competitive with other states, others pushed back on offering incentives to major corporations. Should taxpayer funds be used to attract large out-of-state companies, such as tech firms?
