Marshall County FSA Update
Marshall County FSA Provides Updates on Committee Election, CRP Enrollment and Assistance Programs
The Marshall County Farm Service Agency (FSA) office has announced several updates for local producers, including county committee election results, enrollment opportunities for the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), farm reporting reminders and information on available assistance programs.
Marshall County Committee Election Results
Evan Ogren of Langford was recently elected to represent Local Administrative Area (LAA)-2 during the Marshall County committee election.
Michael B. Nelson recently concluded more than nine years of service on the Marshall County Committee. During his tenure, Nelson provided input on local agricultural issues and advocated for fellow farmers.
County committee members play an important role in the day-to-day operations of the FSA, helping deliver programs at the county level and working to address the needs of local producers.
Each FSA office is served by a county committee made up of local farmers, ranchers and foresters elected by producers in the area. Other members currently serving on the Marshall County FSA committee are Nate O’Brien, Sam Nordquist and County Committee Advisor Brenda Johnson.
2026 Continuous CRP Enrollment Underway
FSA is currently accepting offers for Continuous CRP enrollment from Feb. 12, 2026, through March 20, 2026. Enrollment for General CRP will take place from March 9, 2026, through April 17, 2026.
Officials note that enrollment is expected to be competitive as the program is nearing its 27-million-acre statutory cap, with approximately 1.9 million acres available nationwide for all CRP enrollments this fiscal year.
New acreage offered under continuous CRP practices will be considered for acceptance on a first-come, first-served basis if the proposals support USDA conservation priorities. These priorities include practices that address water quality, such as filter strips and grass waterways, as well as efforts to restore native ecosystems or address specific resource concerns.
Reminder to Report Farm Changes for 2026
Producers are reminded to report any farm changes for the 2026 crop year to the Marshall County FSA office. Changes that should be reported include land ownership changes, operator changes, share changes, field combinations, field splits, new breaking or other updates affecting farm records.
Marshall County Receives Secretarial Disaster Designation
Marshall County has been designated a Natural Disaster Area due to flooding and excessive moisture that occurred during the summer of 2025.
As a result of the designation, producers may apply for emergency loans through Oct. 9, 2026. The emergency loan rate for March is 3.750 percent. Producers may borrow up to 100 percent of actual production or physical losses, up to a maximum of $500,000.
Farmers Bridge Assistance Program Open
Enrollment is also open for Farmers Bridge Assistance (FBA), which provides financial assistance to producers while they await the availability of benefits under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).
The bridge payments are authorized under the Commodity Credit Corporation Charter Act. Pre-filled FBA applications are available to producers who timely apply for eligible programs.
