Britton youth wrestlers competed in the District 7 tournament held in Sisseton on Saturday.
The top eight finishers in each bracket advance to the Region 4 event to be held at the Britton-Hecla Arena this Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. The top three placers in the regional (top four in 12U age division) will qualify for the state tourney in Sioux Falls March 20-22.
Wrestlers from Districts 7 and 8 will be competing in Britton and hail from Watertown, Clear Lake, Milbank, Webster Area, Clark/Willow Lake, Arlington, DeSmet, Sisseton, Hamlin, Tiospa Zina, Madison, Brookings, Sioux Valley, Garretson, Tri Valley, Dell Rapids, Chester, Flandreau, Baltic, and Colman.
Region qualifiers include first place finishers Onyx Stelzer, Jordan Gutierrez, Corbin Dawson, and Kenzlie Holland. Placing second were Kash Holland, Grayson Marzolf, and Emsley Eimers. Third placers were Keegan Collins-Miles, Briggs Hagen, Crue Jones, and Colton Biel.
Placing fourth were Benson Warner, Brooks Taylor, Tripp Hagen, Oliver Suther, and Jaxon Guy. Finishing fifth was Corven Schmieg, sixth was Jackson Shileny, and eighth was Ryker Guy.
In other action last weekend Finn Anderson and Miles Hanson both took first at the Oakes Tournament and both took second at the Central Cass tournament.
