LA PLANS FFA WEEK WITH FUN AND LEARNING

LA PLANS FFA WEEK WITH FUN AND LEARNING

The Langford Area School District is celebrating National FFA Week Feb. 23–27 with a full slate of activities highlighting agricultural education, leadership and community service.
Throughout the week, students will take part in themed dress-up days including “The Cows Are Out” pajama day on Monday, “BBQ Dads and Soccer Moms” on Tuesday and “Hunter vs. Fisherman” on Wednesday. Thursday will be USA Day, encouraging students to wear patriotic attire while participating in a service project in the ag room. Friday wraps up the celebration with FFA Friday, where students are encouraged to wear blue and corn gold or official FFA apparel. Leadership workshops with special guest Byron Ernest are also planned.
In addition, Langford Area FFA members will complete a service project making lap blankets for nursing home residents in Britton, Bristol and Roslyn. Donations of fleece, flannel or other soft fabrics may be dropped off at the school prior to Thursday to assist with the project. The fabric will supplement materials purchased through a National FFA grant.
All week long, the chapter will recognize local farmers and ranchers on its Facebook page. Community members are invited to nominate a family or individual who has helped the chapter and community grow. See the Langford Area FFA page for this and other FFA Week highlights.
Watch next week’s edition for a full FFA Week special feature highlighting the chapter and its activities.
