FAULKTON STOPS LIONS CAGERS

Langford Area fell behind by 12 points at halftime but played Faulkton on nearly even terms in the final half in a 64-48 loss at Faulkton on Friday.
    The Lions took a 2-13 record into a contest with Aberdeen Christian last night Tuesday, play at Aberdeen Roncalli on Saturday (JV 5 p.m., varsity to follow), and host Ipswich on Monday (JV 6:30 p.m., varsity to follow).
    “We actually did some really nice things against Faulkton,” said LA boss Brian Schuring.  “We have struggled against them in the past, however, we competed hard and played well.”
    Faulkton led 16-10 after one period and doubled that margin to 34-22 at the half.  The Trojans won the third quarter 14-9 but the Lions outscored the hosts by a point in the final stanza.
    Kassen Keough led LA with 18 points and four assists.  Graydon Hurley contributed 10 counters.  Conner Glines grabbed nine rebounds and had a pair of steals, and Eli Samson had three assists.
