The Langford Area boys basketball team picked up another win in a couple of starts in the past week.
The Lions, now 2-9, stopped North Central 54-46 on Saturday and fell to Tri-State by the identical score of 54-46 on Monday. LA hosts Northwestern in a doubleheader with the girls’ squad on Friday (JV girls 4 p.m., JV boys, varsity girls, varsity boys to follow), and travel to Waubay to meet Waubay-Summit in a twin bill on Monday (JV girls 4 p.m., JV boys, varsity girls, varsity boys to follow).
“We played our best game so far this year with the win over North Central,” said LA boss Brian Schuring. “It was a great team effort and we played well on both ends of the court. Credit to the boys and their commitment to not let their teammates down.
“After coming off the North Central game on a high note, we took a few steps back against Tri-State,” added Schuring. “It’s always tough to play on the road when you don’t have the commitment and team play we had the game before. Hopefully we learn from this game and continue to get better each day and each game.”
