LIONS GET VICTORY IN OVERTIME

The Langford Area boys basketball team picked up its first win of the season 67-66 in overtime over Florence-Henry in the Redfield Classic on Saturday and dropped a 53-34 decision top Warner on Thursday.
The Lions, now 1-8, host North Central in a doubleheader with the girls squad on Saturday (JH boys noon, JV boys 1 p.m., JV girls, varsity boys, varsity girls to follow) and travel to Rosholt to battle Tri-State in a twin bill with the girls on Monday.
“We played through a lot of adversity against Florence-Henry,” said LA boss Brian Schuring.  “We have been battling sickness all week and we were in foul trouble most of the game. The boys fought hard and deserved a win like this! We were down nine points in the fourth quarter and never gave up on each other. Proud of the boys!”
