HARDY CLAIMS 190-POUND TITLE

HARDY CLAIMS 190-POUND TITLE

Three Britton-Hecla wrestlers placed among the top three in their weight brackets at the Webster Invitational held on Saturday.
Tucker Hardy improved to 10-2 on the season and claimed the 190-pound championship, posting a couple of pins and a tech fall.  Ben Suther stands at 9-1 after finishing second at 175 pounds, and Lincoln Kilker, now 9-6, was third at 106 pounds.  The Braves finished fifth as a team in a field of 18 squads.
“Overall, we wrestled well and every win  helps when it comes to team points,” said B-H coach Josh Hawkinson.  “This week our focus will be on  committing to changing our levels on our feet and taking the shot.  You expend a lot of energy when you do that, but we have to get guys to that point and capitalize on their feet.  We also need to get more comfortable on top.”
The Braves are hoping to have senior Bryce Hawkinson back in the lineup this weekend.  He has been recovering from a dislocated shoulder.
This week the local matmen will compete in the Central Cass Tournament in Casselton, ND, on Friday and Saturday and Monday they travel to Groton Area.
