LADY LIONS POST 5-1 MARK

LADY LIONS POST 5-1 MARK
LA’s Lizzie Gustafson went high to get the tip to begin one of the Lady Lions’ five wins this season.

The Langford Area girls basketball squad added two more wins in the past week to run its win streak to three and boost its season mark to 5-1.
Coach Michael Alberts’ club will host Herreid-Selby on Friday as part of a doubleheader with the boys’ squad (JV girls 4 p.m., JV boys, varsity girls, varsity boys to follow), the Lady Lions will play Andes Central-Dakota Christian in the Redfield Classic at 1 p.m. on Saturday and play at Hankinson, ND, (JV 5:30 p.m., varsity to follow) on Monday.
“Our girls have done some really good things over the last two games,” noted Alberts.  “We have been able to pick up our defensive pressure and create turnovers leading to easy points. We also did a good job of making it tough for our opponents to score.
“Offensively, we have done a good job of moving the ball around and getting open looks,” Alberts added.  “One of the things we are really going to focus on is finishing shots around the basket. We have done a great job setting ourselves up for those shots, but now we need to finish them. Our girls have been focused this year and are really working to get better and better every day.”
