OLD-FASHIONED FAMILY CHRISTMAS FUN IN BRITTON THIS WEEK

OLD-FASHIONED FAMILY CHRISTMAS FUN IN BRITTON THIS WEEK

The Britton Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting the community to celebrate a “Fun, Old-Fashioned Family Christmas” this Saturday, Dec. 6, with a full slate of holiday activities scheduled throughout the day and continuing through the month.
The highlight of the celebration will once again be the Christmas on Parade, set for 6 p.m. Saturday. Parade entries should line up at 5:45 p.m. north of Britton-Hecla School on 5th Street. As always, residents are encouraged to bundle up, bring the family, and enjoy the festive lights as floats make their way through town.
Festivities begin Saturday morning at the Prayer Rock Museum, which is hosting “Museum Christmas” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Families can enjoy kids’ crafts, cookies, and hot cider throughout the day.
Holiday moviegoers can head to the Strand Theatre for a showing of “Wicked: For Good” with a special Saturday matinee begins at 2 p.m. and regular showings set for Friday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
Santa will be making a stop on Main Street as well. Photos with Santa will take place at Cups from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Families may take their own photos with a donation of a non-perishable food item for the local pantry, or bring five donated items for a professional photo session. Kids can also enjoy a free hot cocoa, courtesy of Cups.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre will present “Hercules” at the Britton Event Center. Opening night is Friday at 7:30 p.m., with a second performance Saturday at 4 p.m. The Britton Lions Club will host its Supper & Silent Auction Extravaganza after the play at the Event Center from 5–7 p.m. Soup, chili, hot dogs, nachos, and bars will be served for a free-will donation. The silent auction will also be underway. Doors will open following the theater performance.
The holiday spirit continues Saturday evening with the Christmas Variety Show at 7 p.m. in the Amacher Auditorium. The event is a free-will fundraiser for the Event Center Stage Curtains and will include free cookies and coffee for all attendees.
Events continue beyond Saturday as well. Family Holiday BINGO Cards are available through December 20, and the Parade of Trees will be on display at the Marshall County Healthcare Center through December 31. The community is invited to view the decorated trees and vote for their favorite, with Britton Bucks awarded to the winners.
For a full listing of events and additional holiday promotions, see the Chamber ad included in this issue or visit the Britton Area Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
