Area communities will be getting into the holiday spirit in the next few weeks. Many have visits from Santa Clause planned. Here is what area towns have scheduled:
Britton (Saturday): Santa will be set up Saturday during Christmas on Parade at cups from 11 am. to 2 p.m. Stop by and grab a photo. Take your own photo with a donation of a food item or have a professional photo taken by donating five items. Havana (Saturday): Come visit with Santa and enjoy a fun evening in Havana on Saturday, Dec. 6. Stop by the Civic Center for all the fun. There is a potluck at 5 p.m. and Santa will arrive at 6 p.m. Enjoy bingo and prizes.
Veblen (Dec. 7): Visit Santa in Veblen on Sunday, Dec. 7 at the Veblen Community Center. In addition to Santa arriving at noon, there will be a free will donation meal served starting at 11:00 and a bake sale.
Lake City (Monday): Santa Claus will make his annual stop at the Lake City Municipal on Monday evening at 6 p.m. Take photos with Santa and enjoy treats, hot beverages and door prizes.
Langford (Dec. 12): Langford Santa Day Festivities are planned for Friday, Dec. 12. The parade of lights will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed by cookies, cocoa, kids crafts and a visit with Santa at the Langford Legion Hall.
Claremont (Dec. 14): Santa Day in Claremont will be Sunday, Dec. 14 at City Hall starting at 2-4 p.m. Come visit with the St. Nick and enjoy some snacks.
Eden (Dec. 20): Santa will be visiting Club Eden on Sat. Dec. 20 in conjunction with the business’s Customer Appreciation Day. Santa will be available from 5-7 p.m. There will also be live music, karaoke, appetizers and drink specials for adults and kids.
Fort Sisseton is also planning their Frontier Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 13. See the ad on the back page for more information.
