UPCOMING MEETINGS

Britton City Council Mon.
    The Britton City Council will meet Monday (Dec. 8) at 6:30 p.m., with several financial and ordinance-related items on the agenda.
    Council members will review a tax rebate policy, discuss updates on the water meter project, and consider the second readings of Ordinances 624, 625, and 626.
    Ordinance 624 would update the city’s tree ordinance.  Ordinance 625, the 2025 Supplemental Budget, reflects adjustments to multiple departments.  Ordinance 626, the 2026 Appropriations Ordinance, outlines next year’s proposed expense budget and accounts for updated revenue projections and surcharges tied to the water meter project.
    The council will also consider Resolution 2025-4, a contingency transfer, set the 2025 election date, and revisit a 16th Avenue drainage issue to determine potential costs incurred by the city.
 

B-H Board Monday
    The Britton–Hecla Board of Education will meet Monday (Dec. 8) at 6 p.m. Among the agenda items are action on pro rate services, a working agreement, open enrollment requests, and setting the upcoming school board election date. Principals and the superintendent will deliver their reports, and the board is also expected to enter executive session to discuss personnel.

MC Commission 
    The Marshall County Commissioners will convene Tuesday (Dec. 9) at 9 a.m. Agenda topics include zoning and highway matters, surplus item bid openings, including a generator bid, along with discussion of cameras for the ambulance garage. Commissioners will also hear from the emergency manager regarding a dispatch communication repeater, review the county’s weather-related office-closure policy, and consider updates to personnel policy.
