The Missoula Children’s Theatre will hold auditions for its original adaptation of Hercules on Monday, December 1, from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. at the Britton Event Center. Students auditioning should arrive by 3:30 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some cast members may be asked to remain afterward for a brief rehearsal.
Roles to be cast include Hercules, philosophers such as Androcles, Socrates, Aristotle, Zeus, Hera, and Helen of Troy, as well as Homer and Archimedes, Pegasus, Lion, the cyclops, Influencers, Olympians, and Titans. All area students from kindergarten through 12th grade—both public and home-schooled—are encouraged to audition. No advance preparation is required. Assistant Directors will also be selected to help with rehearsals and backstage responsibilities.
Rehearsals will take place throughout the week from 3:45 to 5:45 p.m. each day, with transportation provided from the Britton-Hecla Elementary south doors to the Britton Event Center. The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions include all costumes, scenery, and props, and are led by MCT Tour Actor/Directors.
Performances of Hercules will be held on Friday, December 5, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 6, at 4:00 p.m. at the Britton Event Center. For more information, contact Pam at 605-448-5150.
