BRAVES RECEIVE ECC POSTSEASON RECOGNITION

    Eastern Coteau Conference football champion Britton-Hecla had seven players earn postseason recognition, along with the league’s top offensive and defensive players and Coach of the Year honors.
    Coach Jacob Skogstad was named the ECC Coach of the Year for the third straight season, senior Bryce Hawkinson was named the offensive most valuable player, and senior Jaxon Zuehlke was selected as a defensive co-MVP with Great Plains Lutheran junior Aiden Cameron.
    Joining Hawkinson and Zuehlke as All-Conference selections were senior Riley Hofland and juniors Graham Fosness and Ben Suther.  Honorable mention picks from B-H were junior Jace Rein and sophomore Nathan Folkman.  It was the second straight year that Hawkinson, Zuehlke, Fosness, and Rein were recognized.
    The Braves posted a perfect 4-0 league mark to claim the ECC nine-man team championship.  Great Plains Lutheran was second with a 4-1 mark, followed by Waverly-South Shore at 3-2, Waubay-Summit 2-3, Florence-Henry 1-4, and Wilmot 0-5.
    Other All-Conference picks included Cameron, seniors Lucas Johnson and William Krenz, and sophomore Caleb Kannas, Great Plains Lutheran; seniors Kyle Kneeland and Dru Wientjes and sophomore Spencer Ries, Waverly-South Shore; senior Will Althoff, and sophomores Zayne Strang and Hogan Hlavacek, Waubay-Summit; senior Trallan Sumner and junior Tucker Keller, Florence-Henry; and junior Caden Gibson, Wilmot.
    Rounding out the honorable mention list were juniors Jeremiah Martens and Logan Bergan, Great Plains Lutheran; senior Monty Thompson and junior Marty Mickelson, Waverly-South Shore; junior Evan Aker, Waubay-Summit; and sophomore Carson Kelly, Florence-Henry.
