Based on matches played on Tuesday night Britton-Hecla moved up to the fourth seed and will take on fifth-seeded Redfield in first round play of the Region 1A volleyball tournament on Tuesday.
First round matches will be played at Aberdeen Roncalli with second-seeded Aberdeen Roncalli meeting seventh seed Milbank at 5 p.m., three seed Webster Area tangles with sixth seed Sisseton at 6:30 p.m., and Britton-Hecla’s match with Redfield will be the final one of the night beginning at 8 p.m. Top-seeded Groton Area received a first round bye.
Semifinal matches to determine the two SoDak 16 qualifiers will be played on Thursday. The Britton-Hecla/Redfield winner will play at Groton, while the other semifinal will be played at Roncalli.
In Region 1B Langford Area is the fifth seed and will play at four seeded Aberdeen Christian on Tuesday. The winner of that game will play a semifinal match next week Thursday to determine a SoDak 16 berth.
