Members of the Britton-Hecla oral interpretation team are pictured after a strong performance at Monday’s Arlington Invitational, where several students brought home medals, ribbons, and top scores across multiple categories.

Monday the Britton-Hecla oral interpretation team had a great showing at the Arlington Invitational.  Three performers earned medals for perfect scores across the three rounds of competition: senior Paisley Bray in poetry, junior Carter Chapin in storytelling, and sophomore Noah Schuster in serious prose.  Bray and Chapin also earned superior plus ribbons for their duet and teamed up with Amelia Ingvalson for a superior ribbon in reader’s theatre.  Ingvalson’s poetry also earned a superior plus, and she teamed up with Aiden Strong for a superior in duo as did Schuster and Ryer Larson’s duet.
Lillian Boyko and Charles Schuller came home with superior ribbons in the humorous division as did all three BHHS orators: Baylee Bender, Ruthie Moeckly, and Avery Leonard.  In addition, Olivia Effling and Savannah Angstman got superiors in poetry as did Emily Effling, Luzetta Moeckly, and Wyatt Strong in serious prose.  The following competitors received excellent plus ribbons: Leonard and Boyko in duo, Brooklyn Hunt, Lily Mundt, and Annalie Satterlee in humorous, Adalyn Kanizar in storytelling, and Aiden Strong in serious reading.
The next few weeks will be busy for the team.  Wednesday is the ECC meet, Monday the 27th is the NEC meet, and the local contest is set for Thursday, November 6th at 6:00 PM at the school.
