FORT PLANS HALLOWEEN FUN THIS WEEKEND

FORT PLANS HALLOWEEN FUN THIS WEEKEND

It’s that time of year when ghosts, ghouls, and things that go bump in the night come out to play at Fort Sisseton Historic State Park. The popular Haunted Fort event will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-18, from 7 to 11 p.m., with the last guests allowed in line by 10:45 p.m.
Visitors can test their courage by walking through the haunted maze for just $5, then stick around to enjoy a variety of activities, including hayrack rides, ghost stories, snacks, and a new Zombie Scavenger Hunt with prizes. Buildings throughout the fort will be decorated, and guests can vote for their favorites using spare change.
Firepit rentals are available for $40 and include two bundles of wood and a picnic table. Reservations must be made in advance by visiting the park’s Facebook page or calling 605-910-4465.
For families seeking a lighter experience, a non-scary, kid-friendly event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. featuring candy collecting and wagon rides. Kids are encouraged to dress up and vote for their favorite decorated building using their loose change.
A South Dakota Park Entrance License is required for all vehicles entering the park and may be purchased at the gate.

Some people view it as no different than other entertainers and performers who have appeared at White House events under various presidents. Others believe a professional fighting event was not an appropriate use of the White House grounds. What do you think?
