B-H NETTERS ADD TWO VICTORIES

Home Match With Roncalli On Thursday
B-H NETTERS ADD TWO VICTORIES
Britton-Hecla senior Abby Lee pounded 21 kills in the Lady Braves two matches in the past week. The local netters picked up a pair of wins to boost their season mark to 10-8.

The Britton-Hecla volleyball team picked up a pair of wins during the past week over Milbank and Sisseton to boost its season mark to 10-8.
Coach Jenna Peters’ squad played at Waubay-Summit last night Tuesday.  Thursday Aberdeen Roncalli comes to town, and on Monday the Lady Braves kick off a four-match road swing at Groton Area.
“Sisseton and Milbank were both good wins,” said Peters.  “We have some really good teams coming up but I’m confident that my girls can play with them.  We are going to work really hard to give us the best chance at seeding in our region.”

B-H 25-32-25
Milbank 17-30-13
The Lady Braves swept Milbank but it required winning a marathon 32-30 second set.
Set one was a battle in the early going with four lead changes before a 13-13 tie.  Then the local netters went on a 12-4 run, led by three Abby Lee kills.
The second set was a back-and-forth affair from the start but it looked like the Lady Braves were going to again pull away down the stretch with a 19-15 advantage.  Milbank tied it at 19-all, but Chellon Pruitt and Lee pounded kills and Airiana Buer served an ace to help B-H to a 24-21 lead.  Back came the Bulldogs with four straight points to lead 25-24 and set up the furious finish.  B-H faced three set points but Buer came up with another ace and Maddi Micko a kill for the final two points and the win.
The Lady Braves came on strong again midway through the third set, outscoring the visitors 14-3 to go up 22-10 and cruise to the sweep.
Buer was perfect at the service line with 18-18 and four aces while Micko and Lee both came up with nine kills at the net.

B-H 21-25-25-25
Sisseton 25-12-21-19
The Lady Braves rebounded from an opening-set loss to Sisseton to win in four sets.
B-H came up with a whopping 50 kills, led by Maddi Micko, Jaelee Grupe, and Abby Lee with 12 each, and Karlie Zuehlke chipped in with nine.
