The Langford Area volleyball squad split a pair of matches in the past week, sweeping Tiospa Zina but losing in straight sets to Ipswich.
This week the 8-12 Lady Lions hosted Faulkton last night Tuesday, Waubay-Summit comes to town on Thursday, and LA travels to Wilmot on Monday.

LA 25-25-25
Tiospa Zina 6-15-12
The Lady Lions came up with 13 aces and 25 kills to sweep Tiospa Zina.
It was nice to get a win.
“Emily Olson had pulled a muscle from the Ipswich tournament so it was nice to be able to give her a night off and give Josie Vandervorst, Kaytlyn Shepherd, and Sophia Rodriguez some varsity playing time and they all three did a great job,” said LA coach Susan Larson.  “I thought the girls stayed focused and played hard all three matches. We got to give some girls back row or front row opportunities that they don’t normally get. Regan Bruns has been sitting out with some health issues so we hope to get her back soon.”
Mariah Tosse led the way at the service line, hitting 10-10 and three aces, while Lizzie Gustafson powered LA at the net, hitting 15-16 with seven kills.
Ipswich 25-25-25
LA 20-19-16
Ipswich won three tightly-contested sets to sweep Langford Area.
“Another great match,” said Larson.  “I thought everyone played well and kept their head in the game, and I thought Alex (Darling) played a great game. It was also nice to have Emily (Olson) back. I think Emily and Lizzie (Gustafson) have been playing really well lately - front and back row.
Gustafson led the Lady Lions at the net with eight kills and Emily Olson added five.
