LA VOLLEYBALL SQUAD AVENGES LOSS

Host Two Matches This Week On Thursday, Tuesday
LA VOLLEYBALL SQUAD AVENGES LOSS
Langford Area’s Autumn Wegleitner kept this ball in play as teammates Lizzie Gustafson (16) and Mariah Tosse (9) are ready to assist in volleyball action this week.

The Langford Area volleyball team added a couple of wins, including avenging a loss suffered just four days earlier, in action during the past week.
North Central swept the Lady Lions last week Tuesday but LA returned the favor by sweeping NC in the Ipswich Tournament on Saturday.  Coach Susan Larson’s crew also posted a sweep over Timber Lake on Saturday.
Langford Area took a 5-10 mark against Tiospa Zina last night Tuesday and this week hosts Ipswich on Thursday and Faulkton on Tuesday.

North Central 25-25-25
LA 14-12-16
North Central rolled to a sweep over Langford Area.
“It was a tough night in Eureka,” said Larson.  “We were definitely tired from our battle the night before with Britton-Hecla and a long trip to play, but by the third set we really started to get things moving. The third set got away from us towards the end, but not for lack of trying.
“These girls show up every night and really put their best foot forward,” added Larson.  “We struggled a little with our offense but our defense pulled up about 65 digs which is a good night. We also blocked really well and Mariah (Tosse) had a season-high seven blocks.”
Lizzie Gustafson and Emily Olson led play at the net with three kills each and Olson also led the way with 13 digs.

Ipswich Tournament
The Langford Area volleyball squad picked up a pair of wins in the Ipswich Tournament in four matches.
“It was a pretty good day,” said Larson.  “We started the day strong with two wins, one over North Central who we had just lost to on Tuesday. So we felt pretty proud about that.  The girls battled hard all day with a few of them feeling the fatigue of two big weeks of volleyball.  I was super proud of their performance in Ipswich. They put their best foot forward all day and played well.”
