The Britton Barracudas Swim Team brought home a boatload of top honors from the Season State Championships held in Webster Friday and Saturday.
The local squad won the Team Performance Percentage Award (this replaces the traditional team high point awards and takes into account how many swimmers competed on each team) and the Spirit Award. Coach Heather Landreth was named SD Seasonal Coach of the Year, and swimmer Aiden Strong received the Male Coaches’ Swimmer Award.
Britton also had 12 swimmers among the top eight high point winners for each age group, led by Ariyah Sasker, the first place point winner in the girls 7-8 age bracket. Other high point placers included Faustina Rapkoch, second, Lake Tosse, sixth, and Layla Landreth, eighth in the girls 9-10 division; Rosalyn Rapkoch, fifth, and Emersyn Eimers, seventh, girls 11-12; Becket Rapkoch and Logan Landreth tied for third, and Brooks Taylor, seventh, boys 7-8; James Raabe, sixth, boys 9-10; Kylan Sasker, third, boys 13-14; and Aiden Strong, second, boys 15-16.
