KRAFT ATTENDS LEGION CONVENTION

KRAFT ATTENDS LEGION CONVENTION

Rose Kraft, Britton American Legion Auxiliary Unit 80, attended the 104th American Legion Family Convention held, June 20–22, 2025 in Huron, SD. During the Sunday business meeting, Kraft was elected and installed as the Department of South Dakota’s 2nd Vice President. This will put her as the Department President for the 2027–2028 year.
Kraft is a 57-year member of the Legion Auxiliary and has held many jobs at the local unit including President and chairman of the annual BINGO Day events. Kraft served as the District V President for four years and has been the department membership chairman for the past seven years. Along with this, Kraft has had four national appointments in the areas of membership, community service and Auxiliary Emergency Fund.
Kraft is passionate about service to our veterans. “People ask me why I should join the American Legion Auxiliary, and I put it simply,” she said. “Our membership is a voice for our leadership to help get government funds to come to South Dakota for our Veterans. We used to not have medical facilities near by for our Veterans, we now have a clinic in Aberdeen and Watertown.” “Without numbers, there is no voice.”
If anyone in the community is a grandmother, mother, sister, wife, daughter, granddaughter of a Veteran or a husband of a female Veteran, you are eligible to be a member, and Britton would love to have you join them. Just contact Kraft.
