U17 HONKERS NINE MEET WEST CENTRAL IN REGION

The Claremont 14U baseball team split four recent contests while the 17U squad split a doubleheader.
The 14U Honkers swept Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern (WIN) in Northville on June 26 11-4 and 13-5 and Webster recorded a pair of walk-off wins on June 23 8-7 and 6-5.  Claremont’s 17U ballclub scored five times in the final inning to top  Mobridge 5-4 last week Monday in game one but dropped the nightcap 20-5.
This week the 14U squad hosts Sisseton tonight (Wednesday) and then has some time off before playing a best-of-three series with Chamberlain-Lyman in regional play beginning July 25.
The 17U Honkers play WIN in Northville on Thursday and open regional play with West Central in Humboldt at 5 p.m. Monday in a best-of-three series.  Game two will be in Claremont on Tuesday at 5 p.m. with a third game, if needed, immediately following.  The series winner advances to the state tournament beginning June 25, while the loser will play in a single elimination bracket for a state berth.
