The Britton City Council will hold its regular meeting on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will begin with the oath of office for council members Erik Peterson, Jerome Marlow, Tim Dahme, and Brian Beck, followed by the reorganization of the council and annual appointments.
Several public hearings are on the agenda, including a conditional use request from Holland Bros Oil Company, a proposed land swap with Jason Bender, and a special alcohol license request from the Chamber of Commerce for Harvest Days.
Other discussion items include a yard complaint, a past-due water account for a rental property, and financing options for the city’s water meter project. The council will also review open meeting laws and hear from Kim Johnson regarding political signs in town.
Second readings of three ordinances are scheduled. Ordinances 621 and 622 would update requirements for utility hookups to detached garages, ensuring separate hookups are only required if the garage is used as a dwelling. Ordinance 623 would adjust the city’s general penalty for ordinance violations to match state law, setting the maximum fine at $500.
