The Britton U14 baseball team won two of three games in the Bring the Heat Classic held in Britton last weekend to boost its season mark to 14-2.
The local nine kicked off the event with a 5-0 shutout over Sisseton, fell to eventual champion Clark 14-4, and rebounded to edge Platte 3-2. A scheduled game with Clear Lake was rained out last week Wednesday. This week Britton hosts Sisseton tonight (Wednesday), plays at Aberdeen on Monday, and hosts Webster next week Wednesday.

Britton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the opening inning and posted the shutout despite being out-hit 10-3.
Max Suther doubled and knocked in a pair of runs, and Chaz Vietor and Bowen Micko added base hits for Britton. Levi Mills pitched five innings with six strikeouts.

Clark led just 5-4 after three innings but blew open the contest with three runs in the fourth and six in the fifth, taking advantage of 11 Britton errors.
Jack Teveldal, Drew Heitmann, and Vietor each singled with Vietor collecting three RBI’s. Vietor started on the mound and fanned four in three innings.

Britton pushed across a run in the bottom of the final inning to post its one-run victory in a pitcher’s dual over Platte.
Vietor doubled and knocked in two runs, Teveldal doubled, and Liam Peters and Heitmann singled for Britton. Heitmann went the distance on the mound to earn the pitching win, while Platte’s B. Kuiper also pitched the entire game with 10 strikeouts.
