U14 KEEPS ROLLING
A Claremont runner beat the baseball to home plate as Britton pitcher Maverick Strong waited for the throw in recent U14 baseball action. The local nine added four wins in the past week to boost its season record to 12-1 with a busy six-game schedule on tap this week.

    The Britton U14 baseball team just keeps rolling along, tacking on four more wins in the past week to improve its season mark to 12-1.
    The local diamondmen blanked Clear Lake on Thursday and Webster last week Wednesday by identical 11-0 margins and swept a doubleheader from the Lisbon, ND, 15U squad on Monday 19-2 and 16-0.  Britton pitchers allowed just a total of six hits combined in the four victories. 
    This week Britton has six games on the schedule.  Clear Lake is in town tonight (Wednesday) for a 7:30 p.m. contest, in the Bring the Heat Classic in Britton this weekend the local nine hosts Sisseton at 9 a.m. and Clark at 5 p.m. on Saturday and meets Platte at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Tuesday Britton is at Claremont and next week Wednesday Britton hosts Sisseton at 5:30 p.m.

    Britton trailed 2-1 after two innings of the opener but exploded for seven runs in the third and 11 more in the fifth, while Drew Heitmann went the distance on the mound, giving up just three hits, fanning seven batters, and not allowing a walk.
    Chaz Vietor slammed a homer and knocked in five runs, while Jack Teveldal ripped a double and single and collected three RBI’s for Britton, which also took advantage of 12 walks.  Max Suther added a triple, Heitmann doubled and had two RBI’s, and Blayden Downs singled.
    The local nine received another strong pitching performance in the nightcap as Liam Peters allowed just one hit and no walks in the two-inning win as Britton erupted for seven runs in the first inning and nine more in the second.
    Britton had 10 hits, led by Bowen Micko with a triple and single, Peters with a double and single, and Vietor and Joseph O’Brien with a pair of singles each.  Downs and Kylan Sasker added singles.

    Britton scored in each of the four innings to win by the 10-run rule, out-hitting Clear Lake 10-1.
    Vietor started on the mound and allowed just one hit over three innings, fanning six and not allowing a walk.  Maverick Strong pitched an inning in relief, striking out two.  Ten Britton batters laced singles including Peters, Teveldal, Heitmann, Vietor, Micko, Suther, Downs, Carter Grobe, Henry Kilker, and O’Brien.

    Britton jumped on Webster with six runs in the opening inning and cruised to the shutout win behind the one-hit pitching of Jack Teveldal who struck out eight in four innings.
    Grobe doubled and singled and Vietor rapped a pair of safeties to head the seven-hit Britton attack.  Heitmann added a triple, and Micko and Kilker rapped singles.
