Seven local kids from the area community have been quietly enhancing and refining their sharpshooting skills as they get ready to compete in the Daisy National BB Gun Tournament in Rogers, AR, June 29-July 3.
Amelia Crawford, Nick Cutler, Johanna Cutler, Jacey Melroe, Alivia Crawford, Rosalyn Rapkoch, and Faustina Rapkoch comprise the Marshall County Sharpshooters National Team and will compete with the nation’s top BB gun competitors.
The local shooters started their season in January but have continued beyond the regular season which ended in April. Though it has stretched longer than the regular season, the team members look forward, even now, to the beginning of the Sharpshooters’ season in January of 2026. Any kids 8 years old through 15 years old are welcome to participate. While shooting is the definite highlight, gun safety is the main objective, and parents are encouraged to help learn alongside their kids.
The National team has participated in activities around the community. Most recently the team, led by one of the coaches, Josh Cutler, did a service project at Wheatcrest Hills. The team took turns explaining the different aspects of safety and gun handling, as well as engaging in any questions or stories the residents had.
“If you see these local kids around in our community this next week, make sure you encourage these young athletes as they “gear up” for the biggest week in their season,” said team coaches. “So much hard work and effort has led up to this point, and they are very proud to represent this incredible community who does so much to support and cheer them on. Good luck to our Marshall County Sharpshooters!”
