The Britton U17 baseball team picked up four wins in five starts in the past week to boost its season mark to 5-3.
Last week Tuesday Britton swept Frederick 16-10 and 8-0. On Friday the locals started a southern road trip with a 9-8 win over Gregory and on Saturday dropped a 9-6 decision to Platte before rebounding with a 21-5 victory over Castlewood.
This week the local diamondmen travel to Clear Lake on Thursday and host Sisseton on Monday. A game originally scheduled for today (Wednesday) with Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern has been moved to July 7.

Britton jumped out to a 12-2 lead in the third inning and held on for the opening win, out-hitting Frederick 15-3. Dylan Redler tripled, doubled, and singled, knocking in three runs, to lead the locals at the plate. Will Richter laced three singles, Bryce Hawkinson doubled and singled, Jace Rein singled twice, Colton Chapin doubled, and Ben Suther and Kaden Mills both singled with Mills collecting three RBI’s. Four Britton hurlers combined for nine strikeouts with Rein picking up the win.
Britton scored four times in each of the first and second innings in the two-inning contest. Richter laced a pair of singles, Suther homered and knocked in four runs, Chapin tripled, Mitchell Burger doubled, and Rein and Mills rapped safeties. Burger pitched an inning and struck out three.

Britton scored twice in the top of the final inning to win a seesaw affair over Gregory.
The locals fell behind 6-3 after two, led 7-6 in the top of the fourth before Gregory went back on top 8-7 in the bottom half of the inning, setting up the final rally.
Britton out-hit Gregory 12-5 with five players getting two hits apiece. Hawkinson tripled and singled, Richter and Redler each doubled and singled, and Burger singled twice and had three RBI’s, and Suther laced two safeties. Nathan Folkman and Lofton Heer added singles. Mills went three and a third innings and Rein picked up the pitching win in relief with both hurlers fanning three each.

Britton grabbed an early 5-0 lead but Platte rebounded with five runs in the third and four more in the fourth to take charge.
The locals won the hitting battle 9-8, led by Hawkinson’s two singles and two RBI’s. Burger doubled, and Richter, Suther, Rein, Redler, Chapin, and Folkman all singled. Suther started on the mound and Redler absorbed the loss in relief.

Britton led 3-2 after two innings and then exploded for eight runs in the third and 10 more in the fourth, pounding out 13 hits.
Burger tripled and singled twice, Emmett Symens laced three singles, Burger tripled, Redler and Richter both doubled, and Chapin, Mills, Folkman, Suther, and Lincoln Kilker each singled. Hawkinson picked up the pitching win. Suther struck out five in an inning and two-thirds in relief.
