Twenty-five two-person teams caught a total of 646 pounds and 13 ounces of fish in two days in the 23rd annual Harvey Thayer Memorial Fishing Tournament held at Roy Lake on Saturday and Sunday.
Scott and Brent Thayer topped the field with 48 pounds of fish caught. Ricky Smith and Todd Serfoss were second with 42 pounds, 12 ounces, Jared Hudelson and Landon Thayer placed third with 39-10, and the teams of Tony Carlson and Mason Brubakken and Kyle Werner and Ryan Thompson tied for fourth with a 36-14 total.
Anglers catching the biggest walleye, pike, and bass each day were also recognized. On Day 1 the Paul Thayer/Joey-Jen Hudelson team landed a four pound, 12 ounce walleye, Scott and Brent Thayer caught an 11-6 pike, and a 4-4 bass. The largest fish caught on Day 2 were a six-pound, 10 ounce walleye by Scott and Brent Thayer, a 5-6 pike caught by Codie Jones and Dean Zierden, and a 3-8 bass landed by the Thayer-Hudelson team.
