The Britton U10 Red baseball team has won three of its first four starts to begin the summer campaign on a positive note.
The local nine swept a twin bill from Webster and split two with Fredrick. This week Coach Brandon Peters’ crew played Britton White last night Tuesday, hosts Groton on Monday, and Sisseton comes to town on Tuesday.

Britton exploded for back-to-back five-run innings to lead 10-1 in the opener after two frames and cruised to the win.
Ryker Guy doubled and singled twice and knocked in fouir runs, Gannon Peters doubled and singled and collected five RBI’s, and Oliver Suther laced a pair of safeties to lead Britton’s eight-hit attack. Mark Folkman added a base hit. Corwyn Eye started on the mound, not allowing a hit and fanning four, and Suther pitched the final two innings, allowing two hits and striking out six.
In game two Webster erased an 11-6 deficit with five tallies in the third inning before Britton posted a walk-off win in just three frames due to time constraints. Lennox Stenvold singled and then scored on Folkman’s walk-off hit. Folkman also picked up the pitching win in relief. Britton out-hit Webster 14-0 but allowed 18 walks. Eye homered and singled and had four RBI’s, Peters doubled and singled, Folkman, Suther,and Guy each singled twice, Jones doubled, and Tatum Deutsch, Wynn Mattson, and Stenvold each sinlged.

Frederick erased a 2-1 deficit with three runs in the third and held on for the opening win despite being out-hit 7-3.
Deutch led the local nine with a double and single, and Eye, Guy, Mattson, Jones, and Suther each laced safeties. Folkman, Mattson, and Deutsch shared pitching duties and combined for 12 strikeouts.
In game two Britton used four hits and nine walks to jump out to a 10-0 lead in the two-inning contest. Peters and Guy both doubled and Mattson and Eye singled. Guy picked up the pitching win, not allowing a hit and fanning two.
