MARLOW WINS WARD 1 SEAT

Voters Cast Ballots In Tuesday's Britton City Council Race
MARLOW WINS WARD 1 SEAT

Jerome Marlow won the Ward 1 seat on the Britton City Council in last Tuesday’s election, defeating incumbent Cristy Davidson. Marlow received 61 votes to Davidson’s . He will serve a two-year term beginning in July.

Voter turnout was about 25%, with just 74 of the 300  eligible Ward 1 voters casting ballots.

In other Britton council updates, Mayor Clyde Fredrickson will start another term as mayor in July. Erik Peterson filed for the two-year seat in Ward 3 and will join the council in July as well. In Wards 2 and 3, appointments will have to be made for seats as Brian Beck (Ward 2) and Tim Dahme (Ward 3) did not submit petitions for expiring seats.

South Dakota voters will decide in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would end the state’s expanded Medicaid coverage if the federal government’s share of funding for the expansion falls below 90%. The proposed amendment would remove that expanded coverage if the federal funding level drops below 90%. If the election were held today, how would you vote?
