UPCOMING LA, B-H MUSIC EVENTS

    The music departments at both Langford Area and Britton-Hecla schools have a full lineup of performances and contests this spring. Here’s a look at their upcoming events:


LA Music Activities
•    March 18 – Elementary Musical “Making the Band”, 7 p.m.
•    April 2 – 9-12 Region 4 Large Group Contest, NSU (performance times TBA)
•    April 23-25 – 9-12 Musical “Popstars” (23rd: 1:30 p.m.,  24-25: 7 p.m.)
•    May 5 – 5-8 Instrumental Contest, Langford, 7 p.m.
•    May 12 – 6-12 Spring Concert “Lions Go to the Movies”, 7 p.m.


B-H Music Activities
•    March 18 – HS Choral Whetstone Festival, SHS (concert typically at 7 p.m.)
•    March 25 – 6-12 Band & Choir Spring Concert, 7 p.m., Amacher Auditorium
•    April 2 – 4th Grade Musical “Pirates!”, 9 a.m. & 2:30 p.m., Amacher Auditorium (date subject to change)
•    April 24-25 – HS Musical “Beetlejuice”, Amacher Auditorium (24th- 7 p.m., 25th: 7 p.m., with matinee TBD)
•    May 8 – 6-12 Band & Choir Pops Concert, 7 p.m., Amacher Auditorium

Poll: END OR RETAIN EXPANDED MEDICAID COVERAGE? South Dakota voters will decide in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would end the state’s expanded Medicaid coverage if the federal government’s share of funding for the expansion falls below 90%. The expansion, approved by voters in 2022, provides Medicaid eligibility to certain adults ages 19 to 64 with incomes up to the federal limit established by the constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would remove that expanded coverage if the federal funding level drops below 90%. If the election were held today, how would you vote?
