Marshall County Emergency Management has been officially recognized as StormReady® by the National Weather Service. This designation highlights the county’s commitment to enhancing emergency preparedness and public safety in the face of severe weather.
The StormReady® program helps communities strengthen emergency communication, safety planning, and public awareness to reduce risks from extreme weather events. While no community is completely storm-proof, this designation means Marshall County has taken proactive steps to improve response efforts before, during, and after severe weather strikes.
To achieve StormReady® status, a community must:
-Establish a 24-hour warning point and emergency operations center
-Have multiple ways to receive and share severe weather alerts
    -Monitor local weather conditions
-Promote public readiness through community seminars
-Develop a formal hazardous weather plan, including training spotters and holding emergency exercises
This recognition demonstrates Marshall County’s dedication to keeping residents informed and prepared for hazardous weather.
