SHOOTING WOES FELL B-H

SHOOTING WOES FELL B-H

After battling Warner to a virtual standoff in the first half the Britton-Hecla girls basketball team had trouble finding the basket in the second half and fell to the Monarchs on Friday 61-39.
The Lady Braves, who took a 2-9 mark into a contest at Leola-Frederick last night Tuesday, travel to Aberdeen Roncalli on Friday and play a twin bill with the boys’ squad in Sisseton on Tuesday.
Coach Terry Nelson’s club trailed just 25-23 at halftime on Friday but managed just three free throws in the third period as the hosts took charge 43-26 and outscored the Lady Braves 36-16 in the second half.  Britton-Hecla struggled from the field, hitting just 26% of its tries.
“We gave up a lot of layups under the basket,” noted Nelson, “and it was probably our worst rebounding job of the season.  As we head into the second half of the season we need to play defense and rebound, pass the ball, and shoot a better percentage.”
Heather Storbakken led B-H with 17 points and Maddi Micko added eight.

Some people view it as no different than other entertainers and performers who have appeared at White House events under various presidents. Others believe a professional fighting event was not an appropriate use of the White House grounds. What do you think?
