GYMNASTS HEAD DOWN HOME STRETCH

Just Two Regular Season Meets Remain
GYMNASTS HEAD DOWN HOME STRETCH
McKenna Heer, the lone senior on the B-H gymnastics squad, competed in floor exercise in her final home meet.

The Britton-Hecla gymnastics team competed in its biggest meet to date this season at Madison on Saturday and placed fifth among a 10-team field.
“This was not our best competition of the year but we did have some highlights,” said B-H coach Angela Grupe.  “Taryn Kraft received her third state-qualifying score for beam and is now qualified for state, and Jaelee Grupe added a qualifying score on vault.
“We added 1.5 in start value to our team score since the last meet and knew we had to start to work it out with only a few meets left this season,” added Grupe.  “W counted more falls than we have all year, but we can take that back to practice and continue to prepare for the postseason.”
Abby Lee was the only individual placer for the Lady Braves.  The junior finished sixth on the uneven parallel bars.
The local gymnasts will compete at Deuel on Friday and then travel back to Deuel on Saturday, Feb. 1, for the final regular season meet.  The Northeast Conference and Region 1 meet is set for Madison on Thursday, Feb. 6.

Some people view it as no different than other entertainers and performers who have appeared at White House events under various presidents. Others believe a professional fighting event was not an appropriate use of the White House grounds. What do you think?
