The Langford Area boys basketball squad earned its first victory of the season over Burke 59-54 in the Huron Classic last week Monday.
The Lions, now 1-4, hosted Redfield last night Tuesday.  This week Coach Brian Schuring’s crew takes on Waubay-Summit at Waubay on Thursday and plays a twin bill with the girls at Herreid-Selby in Herreid on Friday.

“So proud of the boys getting a W at the Huron Classic,” said Schuring.  “We played so hard and they deserved to enjoy the victory. We have played well in games, however, we were not able to finish. We need to get healthy with our team battling sicknesses. Hopefully we can gain confidence and get better each game.”
Langford Area outscored Burke 15-1 in the second period to grab a 19-point halftime lead and then weathered a 25-point Burke outburst in the third quarter that saw the Lions’ lead shrink to four points.
