LANGFORD TRUSTEES MEET

LANGFORD TRUSTEES MEET

The Langford Board of Trustees convened on Nov. 12 for its regular meeting. Finance Officer Kaitie Stiegelmeier informed the board that the town’s vision insurance policy through VSP will renew in February 2025 without a rate increase.
Stiegelmeier also presented street banner designs submitted by two vendors, Performance Plus and Display Sales. The board favored Performance Plus due to its personalized design options, contrasting with the generic designs from Display Sales. A final decision on the banners will be made during the December meeting.
Additionally, the board reviewed charges on a specific account and opted not to make any adjustments to the outstanding balance. The total amount must be paid by the year-end deadline of Dec. 31, 2024.
Utility Manager Sean Kramer reported that the town’s jetting operations have been running smoothly. Glacial Lakes Excavating recently completed work on applicable water curb stops, and a vendor is scheduled to begin crack sealing in the coming week.
The board approved several items, including: A building permit for Michael and Sarah Swenson, Policy and Procedure #2024-001, which outlines prorating for residents’ first and/or final utility bills, a one-time tool reimbursement of $150 to Mitchell Wieser, and the purchase of water parts for a valve.
The board also passed the second reading of the 2025 budget. Details of the budget are available in the public notices in this week’s paper.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. at the Langford Community Center.

Some people view it as no different than other entertainers and performers who have appeared at White House events under various presidents. Others believe a professional fighting event was not an appropriate use of the White House grounds. What do you think?
