Langford Area’s Lizzie Gustafson pounded a kill down the line against Warner last week Tuesday in a battle against the top seed in Region 1B.

    Despite a loss to the Region 1B top seed Warner in straight sets last week Tuesday Langford Area coach Susan Larson felt the match was good preparation for the regional tournament that began last night Tuesday.
    “We had a slow start to the match, but really fired back in the second set,” said Larson.  “We also played the third set well against a really good team.”
    Warner took the opener set 25-7, narrowly took set two 25-23, and swept the match with a 25-13 third set victory.
    Last night Tuesday the sixth-seeded Lady Lions (9-19) battled #3 Northwestern (29-5) in the Region 1B quarterfinals.  The winner of that match will meet the winner between #2 Hitchcock-Tulare (28-2) and #7 Tiospa Zina in semifinal play for a SoDak 16 berth on Thursday.
