NATIONAL 4-H WEEK: THERE'S A PLACE FOR YOU!

NATIONAL 4-H WEEK: THERE'S A PLACE FOR YOU!

By Hill Country Muskrats 4-H Club Members
Beyond Ready is the theme for National 4-H Week being held Oct. 6-12.  4-H helps young people develop skills they will need to be ready for the future.  There are many opportunities for competition, learning, having fun, and giving back to our communities through 4-H.  No matter where you live or what you are interested in, 4-H has a place for you!      Besides creating projects for the county and State Fair, 4-Hers learn about how to present ideas and lead a meeting, develop public speaking skills, practice problem-solving and teamwork, and volunteer to help those in need in our communities through service projects.
We invite you to check out 4-H! The new 4-H year is just beginning, so if you’re interested in learning more about or joining a club, reach out to the Marshall Co. Extension Office at (605)448-5171 or [email protected] and they will point you towards a club that is in your area and a good fit for you.  Happy 4-H Week!

Poll: END OR RETAIN EXPANDED MEDICAID COVERAGE? South Dakota voters will decide in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would end the state’s expanded Medicaid coverage if the federal government’s share of funding for the expansion falls below 90%. The expansion, approved by voters in 2022, provides Medicaid eligibility to certain adults ages 19 to 64 with incomes up to the federal limit established by the constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would remove that expanded coverage if the federal funding level drops below 90%. If the election were held today, how would you vote?
