Langford Area will be a hopping place next week as they celebrate their homecoming. The theme this year is Music Genres.
Events start on Sunday with the coronation of the King and Queen at 3 p.m. in the school gym. The homecoming candidates this year are Caleb Mertz (parents Andy Mertz and Liz Mertz), Jake Samson (Krissa and Stu Samson), Rennan Bruns (Alicia Bruns and Ryan Bruns), Eliana Darlling (Casey and Rebecca Darling), Cassidy Nelson (Adam and Candice Nelson), and Jordis Jenner (Tanya Jenner, Ali Tonsfeldt and the late Jason Tonsfeldt).
Several fun dress up days are also planned. They are: Monday- Country vs. Country Club, Tuesday- Straight out of bed (Pajama Day), Wednesday- Rhyme Without Reason, Thursday- Students dress like teachers, teacher dress like students, Friday- School Spirit Day (Show your Langford School Spirit). Prizes will be awarded for the best dressed.
Other homecoming events include home volleyball games on Monday against Britton-Hecla and against North Central on Tuesday with the Snake Dance following the game and the burning of the LA.
The parade is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Friday and will go down Main Street. The Junior Class parents will host a tailgate near the Legion after the parade from 2:30-4:30 p.m. There will be a send off for the football team right after.
The football game will be in Groton Friday night at 7 p.m. The Langford Area Homecoming king and queen and parade float winners will be announced during the game.
