SUMMER BASH SUCCESS IN VEBLEN

    This past weekend, Veblen was the place to be for the town’s 12th Annual Summer Bash. 
    The day started with the 5K run/walk. Over 60 people participated in the event. Results are as follows: Female 14 & under- Faith Thorson, 40.47; Male 14 & under- Reese Hogness, 25.04. Male 15-18- Mario Alvarez Cruz, 22.44; Female 19-29- Erandi Flores,, 37.39; Male 19-29-Jose Luis Rivera Castillo, 22.02; Female 30-39- Teresa De Jesus, 42.32; Male 30-39- Israel Juarez Lopez, 27.29; Female 40-49- Karie Geyer, 30.25; Male 40-49- Luis Alberto Cruz,    28.04; Female 50+- Christene Harwood, 45.45; Male 50+- Robert Lee, 49.33.
    The car show that morning was also well-attended. The following entries received first place: Tom Schumaker, Britton: Pickups; Mike Nelson, Veblen: Motorcycle; Jen Nelson, Webster: MOPAR; Jeff Long, Sisseton: GM; Doug Artnson,  Maple Grove, MN: Ford. Denver Nickeson, Veblen: Open Class. Kerry Cameron, Sisseton:  “Best in show” and “People’s Choice.” 
    

Veblen hosted its 12th annual rodeo as part of its Summer Bash community celebration on Saturday.
    A total of 13 events were held.
