Claremont Seasons End

Claremont Seasons End

Claremont Legion and Junior Legion baseball seasons both came to an end in regional tournament play.
The Legion nine lost to Clark-Willow Lake 9-1 and Warner-Ipswich-Northwes13-2 in the Region 6B tournament played in Clark July 23-24.  In the Region 1B Junior Legion tournament in Sisseton last week Tuesday and Wednesday the Honkers dropped decisions to Clark 11-0, Sisseton 8-1, and Groton 12-2 in round-robin play.  The two Claremont squads ended up with a combined record of 10-17.
“We played a lot of teams older than us and were competitive against a lot of those clubs,” said Claremont coach Joe Gustafson.  “The guys get along really well and it makes for a fun experience.”
Seventeen of the team’s 20 players will return next season with just three players aging out - Will Schuller, Jesse Keough, and Tristan Leidholdt.

Poll: END OR RETAIN EXPANDED MEDICAID COVERAGE? South Dakota voters will decide in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would end the state’s expanded Medicaid coverage if the federal government’s share of funding for the expansion falls below 90%. The expansion, approved by voters in 2022, provides Medicaid eligibility to certain adults ages 19 to 64 with incomes up to the federal limit established by the constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would remove that expanded coverage if the federal funding level drops below 90%. If the election were held today, how would you vote?
