ALICE C. MOECKLY

The funeral service for Alice C. Moeckly will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024 at United Methodist Church of Britton. Rev. Jack Erickson will officiate the service and interment will be at the Britton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Olson Funeral Chapel in Britton.

Alice Cecelia Fiegel was born on October 7, 1924, to George and Louise (Gronseth) Fiegel in Pleasant Valley Township. She attended Pleasant Valley School and graduated from Kidder High School in 1942. She married Richard Moeckly in 1943. They made their home on the Moeckly family farm where they raised their four children. They remained on the farm until 1997 before moving into Britton. Richard passed away February 2016 and Alice remained at Spruce Court until her passing.

Alice was a member of the United Methodist Church where she served as a youth director for many years and counseled at many church camps. She also belonged to Extension Club, Britton Study Club, and enjoyed bowling, golf, bridge, needlework and much volunteer work.

Alice passed away Monday, June 10, 2024 at Marshall County Healthcare Center at the age of 99.

She is survived by her four children: Clark (Pamela) Moeckly of Britton, JoAnn Yeske of Aberdeen, SD, Jean (William) Hutmacher of Georgetown, TX, and Dori (Patrick) Colvin of Kingsland, GA; her grandchildren: Andrea (Darian) Kilker, Britton, SD, Vicki (Pat) Renner, Lisbon, ND, Kimberly (Jason)Buechler, Watertown, SD, Torrie Taj, Chandler, AZ, Heather Rothman, Scottsdale, AZ, Jeff (Melanie) Hutmacher, Ridgecrest, CA, John (Nicole) Hutmacher, Leander TX, Jim (Robin) Hutmacher, Alpharetta, GA, Stephanie Andrews, Honolulu, HI, and Mark Andrews, Fort Worth, TX; her great-grandchildren: Mason, Hannah, Maggie, Thane, Weston, Ben, Kathryn, Alex, Savanna, Sara, Ashley, Katherine, AJ, Wyatt, Eleanor, Nicholas, Brynlee, Adlee, River, Baron and Redding; and great-great-grandchildren: Tessa, Stetson, and Milo.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; her sisters: Helen Pitkin, Eleanor Fiegel, Doris Rogers, Ann Stohl, and Joyce Nelson; and her brother: Walter Fiegel.
