Come One, Come All To The Carnival!

    Excitement is mounting as Marshall County American Cancer Society gears up to celebrate the 25th Anniversary Relay For Life on Saturday, June 8. This year’s event  adopts a whimsical theme, “Carnival,” promising a day filled with fun and meaningful contributions to   the fight against cancer.
    Scheduled from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, the event will again take place at the Britton Area Event Center & Hugh Schilling Field in Britton. 
    The Relay For Life event is open to all and free of charge, welcoming individuals and families to join in the fight against cancer.
    Teams are encouraged to set up campsites ahead of the opening ceremony.
The planned festivities kick off at 1:00 pm with Survivor Registration, accompanied by a warm welcome with coffee and cookies. At 1:30 pm, the program commences with the  National Anthem, accompanied by the unfurling of flags and recitation of the Pledge. The Survivor Lap, a poignant tribute to those who have triumphed over cancer, will follow, alongside the introduction of participating teams.
    From 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, attendees can indulge in a spirited game of Bingo hosted by the Cousin’s Crusade team. The Wacky Walkers team steps in at 4:30 pm, offering a delightful Cake Walk. As the day progresses, Archie’s Turtles sponsors a Cornhole Tournament starting at 5:00 pm.
    The Silent Auction, a highlight of the event, will conclude promptly at 7:00 pm, offering attendees the chance to bid on an array of items. At 8:00 pm, a poignant moment ensues with the reading of names on Luminaria Bags, honoring loved ones impacted by cancer. The evening culminates at 9:00 pm with the distribution of awards and a Candlelight Ceremony, accompanied by refreshments of juice and rolls.
    Throughout the day, kids can enjoy the Inflatable Bouncy House, sponsored by Troy Dahme Trucking. Moreover, food will be available all day, ensuring no one goes hungry during this celebration of hope and resilience.
