Langford Area Graduates Eight

Langford Area Graduates Eight

Eight seniors received diplomas at the 113th Langford Area Commencement held on Saturday. To the knowledge of the school’s administration, this was the smallest graduating class that Langford has ever had.
Honor students Megan Gustafson and Cali VanderVorst gave a Senior Honor Presentation titled, “Theme Songs.” The speakers named each classmate’s ‘theme song’ that best describes their life. The girls also shared the future plans of each graduate. The speech wrapped up with a final song reference, “We’ve had the time of our lives and we owe it all to you, Langford Area.”
In his address, Superintendent Shad Storley thanked the graduating seniors for all the lessons they have taught him and reflected on memories as he wished the class well in the future. He also thanked the outgoing principal, Mary Hosford. “Thank you for the positive impact you’ve had as well as setting the bar so high for the future principal,” said Storley, who will be assuming principal duties next school year.
Storley also presented seniors with their diplomas and presented scholarship awards. Board President Jennifer Gustafson also helped hand out diplomas.
Principal Hosford recognized honor students and presented the Class of 2024, Senior Class President Bryanna Peterson gave the welcome, the Langford Area Choir performed a vocal selection, “I Lived,” and the LA Concert Band played, “What Makes You Beautiful,” and the Processional and Recessional.

Some people view it as no different than other entertainers and performers who have appeared at White House events under various presidents. Others believe a professional fighting event was not an appropriate use of the White House grounds. What do you think?
