PBS Planning Britton Program

PBS Planning Britton Program

DATE CORRECTED!!! This event is Thursday, April 4.

South Dakota Public Broadcasting announced earlier this year that Britton has been chosen to be featured on their program “Dakota Life.” The series showcases interesting South Dakota people, places, and things. Ahead of the program, PBS will host a Community Conversation on April 4 from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Britton Event Center.

Nathan Hofer, SDPB’s Director Of Community Impact, explained, “Our goal for the Community Conversations is to invite all members of the community to come and share their love for their home, whether it is for five minutes or for the whole time we are there. History, current events, aspirations, unique people, local landmarks….You name it, we want to hear about it!”

Hofer adds this is the information gathering stage before recording for the show takes place later. The ultimate goal is an episode of “Dakota Life” featuring Britton and the surrounding areas. “Our team takes what they learned from each community and pieces all of it together for our show, digital content, blogs, etc. so that we provide a comprehensive and positive view of the community,” emphasized Hofer.

Some people view it as no different than other entertainers and performers who have appeared at White House events under various presidents. Others believe a professional fighting event was not an appropriate use of the White House grounds. What do you think?
