The Britton-Hecla Robotics Team completed at the South Dakota Vex Robotics Championship. The team of Jerod Nebrida, Braydon Casey, Braun Kadoun and Oliver Moeckly placed 14th out of 28 teams after pool play. They entered the bracket competition seeded 9th out of 12 pairings. They upset the eighth place pairing in their first round of bracket play, but lost to the first ranked team in their next round of competition. It was a strong showing for the team who are in a robotics class taught by Jennifer Carlson.

South Dakota voters will decide in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would end the state’s expanded Medicaid coverage if the federal government’s share of funding for the expansion falls below 90%. The expansion, approved by voters in 2022, provides Medicaid eligibility to certain adults ages 19 to 64 with incomes up to the federal limit established by the constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would remove that expanded coverage if the federal funding level drops below 90%. If the election were held today, how would you vote?
